About Our Presenters:
Dr Nick Carr
Nick is a GP, writer and broadcaster. True to his chosen career as a generalist, Nick has a wide variety of interests without any special expertise in any of them. He was once the doctor on an expedition to the Amazon but despite this, no one died.
Nick has published on a wide range of subjects, from sore throats to parenting, baby sleep programs, enemas, sport, benzodiazepines, consumer issues, computers and chicken bones (naturally). He was one of the first doctors trained to provide Voluntary Assisted Dying care, and is a Board member of Dying with Dignity Victoria.
Nick is passionate about communicating accurate health information. For 3 years he presented health stories on ABC TV with Jill Singer and George Negus, and then on radio with Steve Vizard. He was co-host of the House of Wellness on Channel 7, and still does regular radio slots on RRR and ABC Melbourne.
Dr Isabelle Carr
Dr Isabelle Carr is a general practice registrar and health science communicator, who has sat on several volunteer committees including the Australian Medical Students’ Association. Isabelle’s true passion is public health and health communication, and she has presented research at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
Isabelle regularly appears on RRR Radiotherapy and 3AW, and previously Channel 7’s House of Wellness program. Isabelle is also part of the future governance committee for the RACGP, and is the mother to a delightful 6-month-old son.
